sugar bowl

I feel like it is ages since I made a card, I have had a week off from work to spend the holidays with the kids and we have had a lovely week, but I have had craft withdrawal symptoms and did have to fit in a trip to sir stampalot to see the lovely and very talented lou making her beautiful cards. I really liked this sketch on the Sugar bowl challenge blog and have used a sugar nellie stamp called fragile beauty. The papers I have used are by imaginisce and are lush on both sides and the image was coloured with copics. The flowers and leaves are a sizzix set of 3 dies that I got from sirstampalot and I just know I am going to use them loads.

Now I just had to show you this picture my daughter made me, she got a felt kit for her birthday and said she wanted to make me a picture and this is what she came up with. Other than getting out my cuttlebug she did it all herself and I think she did rather well, in fact I love it but I am biased cause I love her.

Another post

Another post in the same day this card is using the sketch on Sketch saturday and for this I have used a cute fairy doodles stamp which I fell in love with, I have coloured with copics and added a touch of glitter. The circles are made using my trusty nesties (love these) and the patterned paper is from the wisteria range by basic grey.

I would just like to say thankyou for the lovely comments they do really make my day and also gives me a chance to nosy at all you fab blogs that I may not have found.

New challenge

Over on Tuesday Taggers it is the first challenge and it is to make a tag for a new beginning. I have chose to make a baby tag and it was a nice change to always making cards. I have used some making memories papers and a tilda baby stamp.

I have spent the day at home today when I should have been at work has my daughter was ill and I had no one else I could ask to look after her. This is the hard bit about being a working mum as I felt guilty in not being able to work , does anyone else feel that having a family is like juggling lots of balls and trying not to drop them lol.

Just magnolia challenge

There is a great sketch on just magnolia this week and I really enjoyed doing it. I have used a older Tilda but still a favourite of mine and coloured with copics and used a white pen to highlight. The papers are my mind's eye and I have also used the new white wash core'dinations cardstock, now when sanding this you end up with white powder all over, a bit messy. I have die cut and punched the flowers and the bottom flowers have been through a cuttlebug folder and then sanded.

froggy birthday

I have had a bit of a day to myself today, it doesn't happen too often but I really enjoy it when it does. It is so nice sometimes to have peace and quiet and not feel the need to talk. I have made a card today using the sketch over on Fridaysketchers and a frog stamp I have had for a while. The image is coloured using copics and a little clear glitter gelly pen on balloons. The paper is from a k&co mat stack that I fell in love with but to be honest everytime I use some from it I am not that pleased with the results.

stamp with fun

It is a great choice of sketches on stamp with fun and gave me a reason to use my eazi box board for the shape. For this project I have used pink cat studio set of owl stamps and coloured with distress inks. The papers are cosmic cricket and buttons and other bits are from my craft box (should really say lots and lots of craft boxes lol)

2 challenges combined

I have not had a lot of crafting time this week but I have managed to do 1 card that combines 2 challenges. The first is sketcher Saturday challenge and this is using a sketch and the second is the just Magnolia challenge and for this you had to stitch on your card. I have used a really cute tilda with a ladybird and thank goodness they are not really this size lol. The papers are bobunny and the flowers and ribbon is from my craft box.

It was my birthday on Sunday and I received a lot of gorgeous handmade cards which I will keep because I know the time that goes into them, so a big thanks and hugs to my crafting buddies who made me a card. My young daughter also made a card and for a 7 year old it was fab but what got me most is what she wrote inside. To mum a journey I will never forget is a journey with you love Tianna. I was pretty surprised at this then started to think is my driving that bad lol.

fan card

Made this card today for a friend who like flowers and is not into cute that I seem to do a lot of lately.The stamp is one I have had for a long while and I just stamped it 5 times. My cardstock and punch is all Su and the image is coloured with copics.

I have also had good news today because I went to the hospital and I have been discharged. Nearly 2 years ago I was told I had skin cancer and I was treated for it but have had to keep going back to the hospital regularly for check ups but now I have been given the all clear. So I have strict instructions to wear lots of sun cream (not that I have ever been a sun worshipper or used sun beds).

penny black cat

The Penny Black challenge this week is to use 3 shapes in you card so I have gone for a triangle,rectangle and a circle for mine. I have used this cute cat stamp and a su sentiment stamp. The image is coloured with copics and highlighted with a uni-ball signo pen. I have had ago at making at fancy pin too.

I have been very busy this weekend and this was my first chance to craft in peace and boy did I enjoy it. I will not have much chance the rest of the week due to work and appointments.
