Sketch Saturday

A quick post today because I am busy cleaning (groan), last night I had a go at http://sketchsaturday.blogspot.com/challenge and I used my high hope stamps and Su stamp set. I have coloured it in with copics and used a little chain that came on one of my boys shirts to attach the anchor, hows that for recycling. I don't often finds bits I can use from the boys stuff but my daughters clothes often come with pretty buttons.

Fairy Love

I have been playing with the fairies today and this is one of the new Crafter's Companion stamp sets, and boy did it take a long while to colour in. I have used distress inks and highlighted with sakura pens. The card is Su cardstock and I have used Su ink around card edges, the ribbon is also Su, I so love how the Su range all matches.

Yesterday I went with two friends to Alan and Barry's craft studio and watched how they film their show. We then sat and made cards in their craft room. They were really lovely and all the staff too. We also called at my favourite shop Sir Stampalot because my friend needed some bits and that is where I got the fairy from. I have been to 2 craft shops this week because hubby took me to another one today (been feeling a bit low and he wanted to cheer me up). Today I got some lovely papers and some ribbon ( a girl can never have to much ribbon) but my hubby was shaking is head when I picked it up lol. It is a bit of a standing joke at work that if you need ribbon you just need to go to Louise's. I just love the stuff but the funny thing is that nine times out of ten I still end up using the plain ribbon rather than the fancy stuff.

truly Scrumptious challenge 3

The sketch over at Truly Scrumptious is lovely and I really enjoyed following it. For my card I have used hot off the press papers that I have had for ages. The stamp is a gorguss girl, cant seem to stop using these. I have also used a Su stamp for the swirls and the Punch is su too.

I have also decorate the inside because I had bits left over. Now I don't always do this because it costs more to post and I normally put a verse in my card. I have used my su punch again, I really love this punch a very lovely lady brought this back from the Usa for me, and bits of left over papers to finish it.

Now I thought I would take a quick photo of the cakes I made, because they don't last long in this house and I want to do a scrap page. I have only just got back into scrapbooking, card making seems to have taken over a bit.

I have had a lovely day today, the kids brought me tea in bed, with cards and presents. I received flowers, a Cd and new head phones for my Ipod (the ones that came with it hurt my ears). It would have been even nicer if my husband was not at work today, he left at 6.30 and works 12 hour shifts. I felt very grateful today for my wonderful family as I heard the news that Jade Goody died today. My heart goes out to her boys and her Mother, and I am not ashamed to say I had a few tears because I find it so sad, even though I do not know her. It is times like this that you realise how precious life is and how you need to make the most of it.

Pollycraft challenge

I have had a day to myself today and I have had ago at the pollycraft challenge I fell in love with this cute download, and decided to have a go at the lovely sketch provided. I have no idea what papers I have used because I dipped into my offcuts box to try and use up bits and bobs. The flowers and butterfly are punches and the sentiment is a from the Claire Curd range.I have been able to craft in peace today and also listen to music I like without complaints from others. Now I have to go and bake cakes for a cake stall that is at Girl's Brigade, and they are chocolate ones yummy.

Friday Sketchers

I have had a go at the sketch on Friday Sketchers and I am not that pleased with results, I prefer to make more colourful/female cards, but because I have men folk in the family I have to occasionally make them lol. I have used a cute sugar nellie stamp and some basic grey papers, the stars are die cut from a sizzix die.

I had a fun night last night because I got together with some crafting friends and we drank coffee and crafted together, it is a lovely break from everyday life and I feel very lucky to have such fab friends who share my love of crafting.

Sketch Saturday

I have had a quick go at the challenge on Sketch Saturday , it was a lovely sketch to use. I have used one of the Gorjuss girl stamps and coloured it with copics. The papers are Daisy bucket and the flowers are die cut from a sizzix die. I had a small dog hindering me with this card as he kept sitting on my papers and proving to be a real nuisance.

Mojo Monday

Made a card today with the sketch on mojo Monday it was a fun sketch to use. I have used a Bild malarna stamp and coloured with copics and the papers are from Stampin up.

Cute card Thursday

Made a quick card today for cute card thursday challenge you had to feature food or drink on your card , so I used my cuddly buddly stamp and coloured it in with copics. The cake reminds me of Mr Kipling french fancies and the pink one is my favourite, not that I get much of a look in with cakes in my house.

Now I thought I would show you my dog Teddy's favourite place to sleep and a little peep at my crafting space, which is fairly tidy for me. I only have to move away to make a cup of tea and teddy is on my desk and will even walk across my work, sit on it and is known to stick his nose in my ink pads, but he does look cute so I can't be cross for long. If you look closely you will notice he is sat on my craft magazines too and if I move him he then jumps in my seat.

Friday Sketchers

The sketch this week over on Friday Sketchers as a lot of elements in it but was fun to do, I decided to use my Su summer by the sea stamp set I was very lucky this week and was given this set by my neighbour so I was pretty keen to try it out. I have used K&co papers and the swirls are die cut from a sizzix die, the colouring is done with distress inks as they seemed to match papers well and I thought I would let my copics rest a bit lol. Now I am always unsure when I make a card as to whether I like it or not, I have to leave it on my desk and look at it with fresh eyes in the morning and then decide if it is ok does anyone else do this or is it just me being a bit strange.

I would just like to say thankyou for all your kind comments I normally only show my cards to hubby and he always says that's nice. Now I must go and get ready for work or I will be late and my very good friend /work colleague will wonder where I am.

Mojo Monday

Over on Mojo Monday they have a great sketch and I really enjoyed doing it, I have used one of my Anya stamps again and coloured her with copics, the papers are magenta and really lovely so may have to get some more.

Hubby is still painting the kitchen and I spent last night shouting don't touch that all night at my kids its not good having kids and a dog around when you decorate, I half expected to find our dog Teddy stuck to the door.

Friday Sketchers 41

Today I thought I would have a go at Friday Sketchers challenge my hubby is painting the kitchen and boy it needs it, until you start you don't realise how bad it is but the doors were definitely not white anymore, so I am keeping out of the way gloss paint always gives me a headache. The sketch was lovely to work from and I used one of my new gorjuss girl stamps and coloured her in with copics, the months stamp is hero arts and the swirls are a papermania stamp.

The little tags are cut from a cuttlebug die and the flowers are ones I found in my stash , now I must go and look busy so hubby doesn't set me to work I would much rather craft.

Cute card Thursday

I have made my card for cute card Thursday challenge using my high hope stamps, the image is coloured using copics and I am getting better with practice, but my kids love these pens too and I am a bit possessive over them but I do share is anyone else like that? I want to encourage my kids to craft but do prefer them to use their own bits and not mine lol. I have stamped the background using my big dotty background su stamp, I have used this stamp loads since I got it, I also used orange brads and rig rag to add a bit of colour, not that it probably needs anymore.
